Visit the sunny family skiing area Meran/Merano 2000 which is located on a high plateau above Meran/Merano. With 40 kilometres of piste, its is not too large and is an ideal place to teach children to ski, do some leisurely sweeping turns or enjoy high-speed descents.
However, this winter paradise is not just an attractive place for skiers and snowboarders; it also has plenty to offer for snow shoe walkers, tobogganists, cross-country skiers and people taking ski tours.
It takes just 7 minutes to reach the top station with the Meran/Merano 2000 cable car and you'll be in the middle of the action and ready to enjoy skiing!
The skiing area in Schnalstal/Val Senales where there is sure to be snow is a good half an hour away from Meran/Merano by car and is a real paradise for skiers and snowboarders. At 3,200m above sea level, you can enjoy the sun and 35km of perfectly prepared pistes – there is something for all abilities! Ski teams actually train on the Schnalser/Senales glacier and with a bit of luck, you can see the professionals at work.
However, there is also plenty on offer for those with less experience: Whether its a ski course for children, acrobatics in the snow park or free riding in the deep snow – there is fun for the whole family and no one will get bored!
Schwemmalm Ultental/Schwemmalm Val d'Ultimo
The Ultental/Val d'Ultimo valley is a good 45 minute drive from Algund/Lagundo but is definitely worth the trip. The traditional skiing area Schwemmalm with its rustic huts is loved by young and old and has produced many world class downhill skiers, such as Dominik Paris. Teams often train for the Ski World Cup at the Schwemmenalm and get themselves into shape.
Diverse pistes with a total length of 25km and varied levels of difficulty await the visitors and ensure you will have a first-class day of skiing. Four chair lifts disperse keen skiers and snowboarders over the different pistes – say goodbye to long waiting times!
