A skiing holiday in Merano and Environs – and so much more!

Great winter activities in South Tyrol

If you decide to take a skiing holiday in Merano and Environs, there are endless possibilities waiting for you. Of course, the three nearby skiing areas Meran/Merano 2000, Schnalstal/Val Senales and Schwemmalm offer fun on the slopes for young and old, away from the hustle and bustle of the larger ski resorts. Tobogganists will also be in their element – if you like speeding down to the valley on a sledge, this is certainly the right place for you.

However, a skiing holiday in Merano and Environs also has plenty more to offer. Besides the classic skiing, there are numerous other winter activities to try out.

Have a go at cross-country skiing and ski in leisurely loops in the middle of a wonderfully snowy winter landscape or leave the first footsteps in the fresh snow during an idyllic snow shoe walk. A winter walk through the sleeping natural landscape is both relaxing and magical when the snow glitters in the sun and the sky is clear and blue.

If you are in good shape and looking for a sporting challenge, take a guided ski tour and conquer a mountain – it is a great feeling once you have arrived at the top and can then enjoy the wonderful feeling of skiing down through the deep snow

If you are taking a skiing holiday in Merano and Environs with children or would like to brush up on your ice skating skills, take a trip to the ice rink in the Meranarena sport centre, glide around in front of the romantic backdrop of the promenade decorated for Christmas on Thermenplatz or visit the small, peaceful ice rink in the centre of Algund/Lagundo.

Regardless of which winter activities you choose – they will all make your skiing holiday in Merano and Environs a truly special experience.
